LAURENTCOAT® 676 is a zinc-aluminum organometallic coating with integrated chromate protection, designed for bulk parts requiring maximum corrosion resistance — especially as a replacement for hot-dip galvanizing on threaded components. It is applied through dipping, centrifuging, and thermal curing, offering a safe and efficient process.
CHARACTERISTICS
- Superior Corrosion Resistance: Up to 1000 hours of protection in ASTM B117 salt spray testing.
- Uniform Coating: Consistent thickness of 5–12 microns, ideal for maintaining dimensions and tolerances on threaded parts.
- No Hydrogen Embrittlement: Non-electrolytic application, acid-free, and thermally cured to maintain steel strength.
- Water-Based with Chromium: Water-based coating with chromate protection, thermally cured at 320 °C.
- Advanced Corrosion Protection System:
- Cathodic Protection: Zinc acts as a sacrificial anode, protecting steel against corrosion.
- Passivation: Metal oxides and chromium stabilize the coating and reduce galvanic corrosion.
- Barrier Effect: The zinc-aluminum film creates a physical shield against corrosive agents.
- Self-Healing: Minor surface damages are naturally sealed as zinc reacts with air to regenerate the coating.
